2012-03-31 , 8:30 am - Noon
Please RSVP by March 15th if you wish to help with this Downtown Clean Up Project. We will meet at 8:30 am at the East end of Madison on 1st Street (Howland Plaza) and then work from 9 am to noon. Please bring your own tools.
A group of individuals from Downtown Corvallis Association, Civil Beautification Urban Forestry Commission and Madison Avenue Task Force met to discuss projects to make our downtown more attractive. As a result we have planned a Bi-Annual Clean Up or "Adopt a Block" program to focus on picking up trash, weeding and maintaining tree wells and curbs.
What we would need from you:
If you are interested, gather a group of volunteers to address your store front. We would appreciate if you or your employees could also make trash disposal available to the volunteers who clean up the area.
Some tree wells may have enough soil to plant shrubs or other vegetation; however, this plant material would need to be watered once a week during the summer until it is established. If you are interested in this option, we could evaluate your site and if appropriate, provide plants at no cost, planted by volunteers, if you would agree to water them.
If you will work with us on this project, please RSVP to the Downtown Corvallis Association at 541.754.6624 or firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, email & phone number.
